I've been playing the National Lottery for years but never won more than a few quid so far :( But I did win a digital camera in my local church raffle so can't be too unlucky after all!

I used to enter the National Lottery expecting to win! But about 500 quid later I stopped expecting......

I have heard the National Lottery referred to as a "Stupidity Tax" meaning the more daft you are the more the government will make from you when you buy a lottery ticket.

Think about it and House competitions seem to be a much better idea by comparison.

Better odds, and an element of skill that makes them fun.

Nah, lets stop kidding ourselves here - entering lotteries or competitions is not like investing in the stock market or running a business to make money - for a start its more fun with better potential returns in the current economic situation ;0).

No, entering competitions shouldn't be seen as a win or loose. Its a chance to be a little adventurous, to escape from the low points in your day by dreaming "what if I won", to feel warm and fuzzy knowing that a good charity has benefited perhaps, to know that you are different from the others who chose more "sensible" ways to spend their money. All that for a few quid LESS than a cheap meal out? In my opinion you are a winner even if you don't win (but then I am bound to say that aren't I!).

And on top of ALL that someone actually does win - and why wouldn't it be you?

So my thoughts? Buy a ticket in a competition and see if just knowing you entered makes you feel good - my guess is that it will :0)

Well the whole point of a competition , is to have a go , and believe you will WIN - BUT , of course , If your not in it - you CAN,T WIN IT !!
Best of luck to all those , who DO have a go !!

Hi winariscahouse, I'm an eternal optimist so always hope that I'm in for a chance of winning... I try to ignore whatever happened in the past and just stay positive. Actually, I've won a few things in the past though the biggest prize was a digital watch (and that was a free comp)
