Announcing The Treasure Tube 1 million euro property hunt!

The Treasure Tube is an exciting new treasure hunt that has just launched in France, which is expecting to captivate the imagination of puzzle solvers worldwide. With a top prize of both a large manor house in Dordogne plus an apartment in Paris up for grabs, estimated to be worth a total of €1 million, the race is on for players to crack the enigma that is hidden in The Treasure Tube.

The Treasure Tube CompetitionThe brainchild of Samuel Jenny and artist Michel Becker, The Treasure Tube requires players to purchase two life-size reproductions of Mr Becker's paintings (3,281 x 3,281 ft), which are delivered in a tube. Each painting features special codes similar to those used by pirates to hide their bounty long ago. Players need to use their imagination, creativity and ingenuity to solve the riddles in the paintings, which serve as maps on which tracing paper blue prints can be placed. To help players along, visual clues will be placed from time to time on the competition website, ComCresus.com.

The first prize, a magnificent manor in Dordogne, features 20 rooms within an impressive 600m² of living space. Located in Argentat, a charming French village, the estate is composed of a 2,300m² private tree-lined park. The property is ideal as a primary, holiday or rental home. Also up for grabs is a two-bedroom apartment located in the 19th arrondissement in Paris, featuring around 45m² of living space and a large balcony. This makes is an ideal pied-à-terre or rental property.

Artist Michel Becker is already known in France for having helped design another popular French treasure hunt, "Searching for the Golden Owl" ("Sur la Trace de la Chouette d'Or"). It saw players hunt down a €1 million golden statue of an owl sculpted by Mr Becker that was burried somewhere in France. The treasure hunt received lots of media exposure when it was first launched in 1993. In order to find it, players had to solve eleven enigmas burried in a 40-page book also illustrated by Mr Becker. According to Wikipedia, some 70,000 copies of the book were sold over the years.

In order to solve the enigma behind The Treasure Tube, you will certainly need tips and clues in addition to your own skill and judgement! Look out for the regular clues posted on the official Treasure Tube website and visit The Treasure Tube discussion group to ask the organisers questions, share your thoughts and ideas, and solve the puzzle together. Good luck!
