| Northwest Indiana House Raffle closed a few days ago, offering players a chance of winning 1 of 4 properties locally, and a 1 in 52 chance of winning a prize. With each entry costing $150 and a minimum of 3,900 tickets to be sold to give away the prizes; despite a slow start the annual raffle closed successfully once again this year. According to the Post Tribune, the lucky winners Ritchard and Debra Frevert received the life changing news just as they were about to sign a new lease for the home they had been renting for over 10 years.
The non-profit house raffle is run every year to benefit St. Jude House and Southlake YMCA. Although in past years between 5,000 and 6,000 are normally sold, the target number of 3,900 had still not been reached a few days before the raffle was set to close. Thankfully it seems that 125 tickets were sold at the last minute, bringing the total sold to 4,002. According to the report: "Wow, I'm in seventh heaven, maybe eighth heaven," Frevert said Saturday morning. "I just called my wife and she's flipping out. We sold our last house and have been renting. Things really worked out for us." Read the full article on the Post Tribune or visit the Northwest Indiana House Raffle website. Related items
