As reported in the Telegraph today, Dave Mackie, a finance broker and puzzle enthusiast, is planning to emigrate to Egypt, where he owns some properties. He decided to give away his home near Blackpool as a top prize in an online Sudoku house competition. The house, which he bought in the mid 1970s, is valued at £675,000. Mr Mackie hopes to sell 14,000 tickets by February 2010. Each ticket costs £50. According to the owner, "I don't believe anyone has ever set up a Sudoku competition to sell their home. This way everyone's a winner. Hi just curious, am thinking of selling my own home via a competition, does Sudoku work for the Gambling Commission? I really want to be sure before going ahead, and thought Sudoku might be a good way of demonstrating skill? I think this site is a great source of info, has anyone been able to pin down what would work? Thanks in advance!
