| Brian and Irene Caddy of Mansfield are the lucky winners of a new ABI St David holiday home worth over £40,000 after winning the nationwide competition organised by Haven and ABI this year. The couple said they were 'over the moon' as they accepted the keys to their new holiday home.
The couple, who are both in their eighties and met when they were just 17, intend to spend more time with their eldest son Chris and his wife who live in St Teath only one hour's drive from Perran Sands. The park includes lots of amenities including heated indoor and ourdoor pools, adventure golf, a climbing wall, play areas and a full programme of kids' clubs, activities and daytime and evening entertainment, together with a surf school. This makes it a perfect choice for the winners who hope to spend more time with their grandsons aged 7 and 8. The top prize is a spacious 38' x 12' static caravan holiday home with plenty of room for the whole family. It features a double bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, an ensuite loo and separate shower room, together with a comfortable lounge, dining area and fully appointed kitchen. It comes fully furnished right down to the cutlery. Mr Caddy, who used to work as a Post Office Executive, said he and his wife have always enjoyed spending holidays by the sea. They are looking forward to long walks along the beach and sharing their new holiday home with their whole family: 2 sons, 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren in total! The couple first holidayed in Newquay in the 1950s in a small touring caravan: "Our first van would have fitted into our new ABI six times over!" added Mr Caddy. Back in those days, the journey took at least 12 hours, but today a flight from Mansfield where they live to Newquay takes less than 1 hour. Congratulations to Brian and Irene Caddy, the lucky winners of the 2011 Haven static caravan holiday home! Related items
