Win a Seaside home from The Truman Show

Remember Seaside, the Florida beach town? If you happened to see the movie The Truman Show in the late '90s with Jim Carrey, you might recall this picturesque American town. Seaside Beach Home Raffle, organised by local charity The Boys & Girls Clubs, gives you a chance of winning a $1.5 million holiday home just moments from the sea in Seaside for $50. You'll have to hurry though: the raffle ends on 6 April.

Seaside FloridaOne of the reasons Seaside was picked to film many of the scenes in The Truman Show is due to the town's quintessential American beachside resort feel.

The attractive architecture and urban planning, combined with its proximity to some of Florida's most beautiful beaches, makes this a prime spot for holidaymakers nationwide.

It is  often cited as an example of successful implementation of New Urbanism and is primarily a resort community, attracting a mix of vacationers and residents who live there a few months at a time.

If you fancy spending your holidays in Seaside - or better still living there yourself; you might consider donating $50 to The Boys & Girls Clubs. Every donation will go towards helping run after-school and summer programs for over 7,000 children at 10 local club locations.

One lucky person will win this beautiful Florida holiday home, which offers extensive family accommodation. With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and large living and dining rooms, the house is perfect for enjoying endless sunny days in Seaside.

Designed by architect Scott Merrill, the 1,576 sqft property features a 800 sqft porch and is decorated entirely in a palate of white, ivory and pale yellow, accentuated by subtle nautical and Old Florda trimmings. At the same time, the Nantucket style home is fitted with all new stainless steel appliances and offers room for expansion.

Before buying a ticket, you might also like to take a look at this short video of the property prize. If you don't fancy owning this home, you could opt for the $1.5 million cash prize instead.

This raffle closed on 6 April 2010.
