| Murray and Michelle Smith set out to raffle off their NZ$1 million home to raise funds to build a new church and community centre in Cambridge, New Zealand. The house raffle, which closed on 31 January, was featured on local TV last week. Backed by strong local support for this good cause, the local pastor and his wife successfully raised a total of NZ$1,212,383. The winner will be announced next Monday - watch this space!
The couple intends to carry out an audit of all entries on 4 February. The winning entry will be announced on Monday 8 February. According to the latest statement on their website: "The money meter will still increase as people continue to DONATE funds for the construction, and as direct credits which were paid up to January 31st are processed. Remember DONATIONS are eligible for tax rebates in NZ as Synergy (Cambridge) Trust is a registered charitable trust. You can DONATE funds on the BUY NOW tab." We will update you on results early next week - good luck to everyone who participated! Find out more details about this New Zealand house raffle. Related items
