Bolton woman wins a flat for free!

Manchester property developer über Massclusive gave away a brand new apartment for free last month as part of a promotion for its new development, Atlas Mill. Sharon Cochrane's name was drawn from a hat from only 3,961 entries by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bolton, making her the lucky winner of Flat No. 4.

There was initially some uncertainty however as the organisers of the competition were unable to contact the winner from Leigh, after various attempts by telephone and email. Sharon was finally contacted a few days later and is planning to move into the brand new development in August.

Built in 1866, just after the "cotton famine" caused by the American Civil War, Atlas Mill was originally designed as a cotton mill. It has now been reconverted into 69 new one and two-bed luxury apartments. The development is situated in the Halliwell / Smithills area of Bolton, which benefits from good transport links and a good selection of shops, restaurants and bars according to the über website.

Sharon's only cost in taking on the property will be the standard £65pcm monthly maintenance charge that all residents are required to pay. Apart from that, she will be handed the keys absolutely free.

Less than 1 in 4000!!!
I can't believe I didn't hear about this free raffle earlier, those odds to win a flat are better than anything out there! Can't find any details of the flat itself but assume it's one of the smaller 1-bed ones - but given it's free it doesn't matter too much! lucky woman
